We believe that children are a gift from the Lord (Psalm 127:3), and we value them highly. Our utmost desire for them is that they know the only true God and Jesus Christ whom He has sent (John 17:3). To that end, we seek to support our parents by providing children's ministries that faithfully communicate the truth of Scripture to our children in age-appropriate, intelligible and relevant language by means of teachers who embody the truth they are teaching. We strongly desire that the next generation put their trust in the God of the Bible (Psalm 78:7). We carefully select our materials from publishers known for their biblical emphases, such as Desiring God Ministries and Great Commission Publications. We also desire that our children's ministries be conducted in a clean, safe, and attractive environment.
Nursery
We provide a nursery for children from 8 weeks of age to 24 months during services and designated special events of the church. Child care is provided by volunteers for all regular services.
Sunday School
Our Sunday School is at 9:30 a.m. for age 2 through high school, taught by regular volunteers.
Children's Church
We provide Children's Church during the 10:30 a.m. Sunday worship service for age 2 through kindergarten, and for older children as desired, taught by a rotating system of volunteers.
Vacation Bible School
Our annual Vacation Bible School is normally conducted the third week of July for age 5 thru Grade 6 (completed). Vacation Bible School is our major children's outreach ministry of the year.
Note: All children's ministry teachers must be members of Killeen Bible Church.
Child Protection Program
To ensure the safety of our children, we require that all workers undergo screening in order to work with children from nursery age through age 18. This screening consists of successful completion of the Child Protection Application, including a statement of faith, two personal references, and a background check.
